5 Music Videos You Can Relax To

As a music freak geek, I always look at my life in terms of music. I can’t speak for the rest of you, but for me, nothing helps me unwind after a stressful day of work quite like listening to some laid-back music.

I also happen to be a very visual person, and nothing quite brings home the music like the video. That’s why I really hate how the music video stations of the past are not really music video stations anymore. Luckily for me, there’s the Internet, and of course, YouTube.

So thanks to people who probably have way too much free time on their hands, who have brought together all of these music videos, I now am pleased to share with you some of my favorite music videos. In particular, these videos accompany songs that I like to listen to when I need to relax. There are other types of videos, of course (does anyone else smell another blog post series?), but for now, kick back and relax.

1. Guster – Careful

This is a great song that I discovered while I was on hold with a technical support help desk. I have since really come to love Guster’s music. In particular, this song has some beautiful guitar work, and very catchy drum licks.

2. Anna Nalick – Breathe (2 AM)

From the moment I heard Anna Nalick’s voice on the radio, I fell in love with it. I bought her CD after hearing only this song (something I rarely do, as I have been burned in the past with CDs that sucked apart from the one song I knew), and was blown away. Her songwriting actually reminds me a good bit of my own (not that I’m bragging, of course πŸ˜‰ ), and I love the way she sings.

3. Embrace – Gravity

OK, so the audio isn’t perfectly synchronized with the video in this video, but this is a video that’s very difficult to find. That’s also why there are Spanish subtitles. Sorry about that. From what I’ve heard, the lead singer of Coldplay wrote this song, so you see a lot of videos of Coldplay performing it. I’m personally not a Coldplay fan, but I do this song is great. The piano work is beautiful, and the whole feel of the song just puts me in a really relaxed mood.

4. Jason Mraz – I’m Yours

There is just something about this song that I can’t avoid smiling or tapping hands or feet to the music. It’s just incredibly mellow, and when I listen to it, I just feel the stress flowing out of me. I know there are a few versions of the song, but this is the one I’m most used to.

5. Plain White T’s – 1, 2, 3, 4

I am a total hopeless romantic sap, and this song feeds that perfectly. It’s a great little declaration of love, and that suits me just fine. This video (which I had not seen prior to this post, incidentally) also is very touching.

And there you have it – 5 videos that you can relax to. I hope that if you haven’t heard these songs before, you enjoyed them. Keep an eye out for future music video posts!

  1. Wow, and I haven’t heard of any of these (except Guster and that was because of you).
